Twilight

So, I watched New Moon the other night.

Question - Edward went to get himself killed but was refused (by Tony Blair / Rik Mayall) as his abilities were worth too much. What are his unique abilities? Have I missed that or is it foreshadowing?

I'd like to think that Bella's physical pain and screaming inducing (on her part, not quite on the part of the viewer), possibly prophetic, nightmares are described better in the books. Is that so? I'd like to interpret into that some bond between them and something special about Bella (as she seems otherwise immune to vampiric powers) but based on various criticisms worry that it might all just be teen wangst.

Huh. Something I can answer. I read the first three books in the series.

Reading minds.

I'd like to think that Bella's physical pain and screaming inducing (on her part, not quite on the part of the viewer), possibly prophetic, nightmares are described better in the books. Is that so?

If I remember correctly, that section of the books was just three blank pages with a month name in the middle of the page to show the passage of time.

I'd like to interpret into that some bond between them and something special about Bella (as she seems otherwise immune to vampiric powers) but based on various criticisms worry that it might all just be teen wangst.

Your guess is as good as mine there. I think that's explained in the book I didn't read.
